Mrs. Valerie Lanza, a Belizean National joined the Registry in 1997 and has served in various positions before being appointed as Fishing Vessels Manager in 2003. In this capacity she overseas all aspects of the Fishing Administration Department in respect to compliance by fishing vessels with national and international regulations, ensuring the compliance of conservation and management measures and monitoring and control of all fishing vessels flying the Belize Flag.

Mrs. Lanza was formally educated in Belize. She is a qualified ISO 9000 Lead Assessor and has a wide knowledge of IMMARBE’s fishing related matters and has successfully headed the Fishing Administration Department.
