The International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT)

Belize’s Status in ICCAT:
Belize acceded to the ICCAT Convention in July 2005 thereby becoming a Contracting Party of ICCAT. 

Capacities and Limitations:
We secured quotas from ICCAT for tuna and tuna like species which we are able to allocate to fishing vessels with an interest in operating in the Atlantic Ocean.  Presently we are able to allocate the following quotas for tuna and tuna like species.

Note: All quota allocations are subject to a Quota Administration Fee.

All our vessels operating in this Convention Area are included in the ICCAT List of Authorized Fishing Vessels. We are also able to entertain the registration and licensing of fishing vessels targeting non-tuna species not regulated by ICCAT.
