NORTH EAST ATLANTIC FISHERIES COMMISSION (NEAFC)

Regulated Area:
Includes the Atlantic and Artic Oceans east of a line south of Cape Farewell – the southern tip of Green land, (42 degrees west), north of a line to the west of Cape Hatteras – the southern tip of Spain, (36 degrees north) and west of a line touching the western tip of Nowa Semlya (51 degrees east).  The Baltic and Mediterranean Seas are excluded.

Belize’s Status in NEAFC
We are currently Cooperating Non-Contracting Parties of NEAFC.

Capacities and Limitations:
Our interest in this RFMO is currently limited to vessels engaged in transshipment activities such as refrigerated/reefer carries.  We do, however, have the possibility of licensing fishing vessels in the area if the need arises.
