Regulated Area:
The area is from the south coast of Australia due south along the 141 degree meridian of east longitude to its intersection with the 55 degree parallel of south latitude; thence due east along the 55 degree parallel of south latitude to its intersection with the 150 degree meridian of east longitude, thence due south along the 150 degree meridian of east longitude to its intersection with the 60 degree parallel of south latitude, thence due east along the 60 degree parallel of south latitude to its intersection with the 130 degree meridian of west longitude; thence due north along the 130 degree meridian of west longitude to its intersection with the 4 degree parallel of south latitude; then due west along the 4 degree parallel of south latitude to its intersection with the 150 degree meridian of west longitude; thence due north along the 150 degree meridian of west longitude.

Belize’s Status in IOTC
Belize presently holds Cooperating non-Member Status of this RFMO.
Capacities and Limitations:
WCPFC approved Belize’s application for the renewal of our Cooperating non-Member status with the following participatory rights:
- Catches of bigeye tuna from Belize flagged vessels are limited to 803.25 m/t
- Catches of yellowfin tuna are limited to 2000 m/t
Belize’s fishing activities in this area are limited to the following:
- In accordance with paragraph 1 of Conservation and Management Measure, CMM 2005-02, Belize can only authorize two longliners to operate south of 20 degrees south in the Convention area.
- In accordance with Conservation and Management Measure CMM 2005-03, Belize can only authorize 5 longliners to operate north of the equator in the Convention area.
- Under Conservation and Management Measures CMM 2006-04, Belize can only authorize two longliners to operate in the Convention area south of 15 degrees south.
In addition to the above, purse seine vessels under the Belize flag can only operate in the WCPFC area provided that they obtain a permit or authorization from a Member State for operation in their EEZ.
