The International Merchant Marine Registry of Belize is a regulatory agency structured under the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, and Investment and functions as the maritime administration of Belize. On behalf of the Government of Belize, it is charged with the delivery of the range of responsibilities and services associated with maritime flag administration.

IMMARBE is governed by a set of regulatory frameworks. These are guidelines and procedures that govern the registration, documentation, and ongoing monitoring of the vessels under the registry. These regulatory laws are measures to ensure that the vessel meets the necessary safety and technical requirements, as well as to comply with the ratified international conventions and regulations of the International Maritime Organization and International Labour Organization.
IMMARBE’s Registration Department is the central focus of the Ship Registry which facilitates the registration of vessels, and the Merchant Ships Registration Act provides the legal framework for the registration of ships.
