Provisional Registration
IMMARBE accepts vessels for provisional registration which is valid for six months and can be granted up to two extensions with a validity period of three months per extension. During this time, the shipowner is expected to gather all documents necessary for permanent registration.
The following documentation is required for provisional registration:
- Application Form for Registration of Ships
- Application of Ship Station License
- Official document proving ownership of the vessel (i.e., Bill of Sale, Builder’s Certificate, Judicial Sale Instrument, Deletion Certificate, Memorandum of Agreement with Protocol of Delivery)
- Letter of Appointment duly signed by appointed Belize Shipping Agent.
- Copy of Certificate of Incorporation (where applicable)
- Original Deletion Certificate or Certified copy of extract of registry or permission to transfer by the previous register (if available)
- Sanctions Affidavit (if applicable)
- Letter of confirmation from an authorized radio accounting entity undertaking the payment of vessel’s radio accounts
- Application Form for Minimum Safe Manning
- Application for the CRAs for crew members on board the delivery voyage
- Application for Bunker Certificate along with the Blue Card (for vessel over 1000gt)
- Application for Nairobi Wreck Removal Certificate along with the Blue Card (for vessels over 300gt)
- Application for Civil Liability Certificate along with the Blue Card (for oil tanker vessels)
- ISPS Application Form (if applicable to ISPS Code)
- Reporting of Owners/Operators (if applicable to ISPS Code)
- Reporting of Company Security (if applicable to ISPS Code)
- Payment of appropriate fees
