Technical Services

IMMARBE’s Technical Department provides technical, statutory and conformance services and support to ship owners/operators through the interpretation of national legislation and international convention. The department also provide guidance for the effective implementation of IMO and any other international conventions required to be implemented on board Belize Flag Vessels and oversight of Recognized Organizations in full compliance with the IMO Instrument Implementation Code (III Code) adopted by Resolution A.1070(28). Our professional technical staff are dedicated to ensuring vessels are properly serviced and documented in the most efficient manner. 

The following are the services provided by the technical department:

• Casualty and Marine Incident Investigations
• Technical Certificates (Exemption, Waivers, and Equivalents, etc.) 
• Monitoring the Belize fleet (Long Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) and AIS)
• Appointments of Recognized Organization and Flag Inspectors.
• Flag State Inspection Program
• Delegation of Authority to Recognized Organizations for Inspections & Surveys for Belize Registered Ships
