Permanent Registration

In accordance with the Merchant Ships (Registration) Act, permanent registration is that form and status of registration which indicates that a vessel is registered in IMMARBE as Belizean ship in full compliance with the documentation or requirements for permanent registration under the Act. 

Permanent Registration is valid for five years, it can be effected during or at the end of the provisional registration six month period once the necessary documentation has been submitted to the Registry.   

The following documentation is required for permanent registration: 

1. Original or certified true copy of a duly notarized Bill of Sale, Judicial Sale Instrument or Builder’s Certificate 
2. Original Deletion Certificate from previous registry 
3. Original or certified true copy of the letter of appointment appointing a shipping agent in Belize  
4. All statutory certificates issued by a recognized organization on behalf of the Government of Belize 
5. All crew on board the vessel to be issued with a Belizean endorsements 
6. Payment of appropriate fees
