Commercial Yacht Registration

IMMARBE accepts vessels for commercial yacht below 24 meters for registration. The pleasure yacht navigational documents will be valid for six months and can be granted up to two extensions with a validity period of three months per extension. During this time, the shipowner is expected to gather all documents necessary for permanent registration. 

The following documentation is required for commercial yacht registration: 

  1. Application Form for Registration of Ships  
  2. A copy of an official document providing ownership (i.e., Bill of Sale, Builder’s Certificate, Judicial Sale Instrument, Deletion Certificate, Memorandum of Agreement with Protocol of Delivery) 
  3. Letter of Appointment duly signed by appointed Belize Shipping Agent 
  4. Original Deletion Certificate or Certified copy of extract of registry or permission to transfer by the previous register (if available) 
  5. A declaration from owners concerning the vessel’s intended use (commercial or pleasure) as well as the area of operation.  Such declaration can be signed by the owner, and it is an offence under IMMARBE’s Disciplinary Regulations to register a yacht as private yacht when it is in fact in commercial use. 
  6. Letter of confirmation from an authorized radio accounting entity undertaking the payment of vessel’s radio accounts 
  7. Application Form for Minimum Safe Manning  
  8. Application for the CRAs for crew members on board the delivery voyage 
  9. Details of the authorized Recognized Organization who will be responsible for surveying the yacht on behalf of our Administration and the issuance of the relevant certificates required by this code 
  10. Payment of appropriate fees
